Notice of changes in routine immunizations
Updated 2023-2-29
From April 1, 2020, the following changes will be made.
1) Introduction of pentavalent vaccine
Currently, simultaneous vaccination is recommended for infant vaccination, and a four-way combination vaccine (DPT + inactivated polio vaccine) is being implemented. This time, we will take it a step further and introduce a pentavalent combination vaccine (quadruple combination vaccine + Hib vaccine) starting in April 2020. Children who have already been vaccinated with the four-dose mixture will continue to be vaccinated with the four-dose combination + Hib from April onwards. Starting in April, children will be vaccinated with a pentavalent vaccine.
2) Introduction of 15-valent pneumococcal vaccine
Currently, the 13-valent pneumococcal vaccine (Prevenar) is administered. From April, the vaccine will be completely changed to the 15-valent vaccine (Bacunyvance). For the time being, the 13-valent vaccine is also available, but the 15-valent vaccine is the standard.
